Do It Afraid!
I saw a pic on instagram the other day that literally shook me to my core. Because I know the person that posted it, I could also “hear” her as she wrote it.
It went something like this:
No one wants to hear your excuses… We are all afraid. But we do it anyway! We don’t know all of the answers but we go with what we know..”
It was one of those in your face kinda posts that made you do a quick self check. Her post caused me to reflect in the following areas:
1. Am I doing all I could be doing? Yes I am doing but am I giving it my all… Am I playing full out. I had to answer that question with No I am not. With that realization I was also forced to answer the question of “Why Not’?
To be honest it really boiled down to fear. Fear of the unknown. Fear of rejection… Fear of failure… My goodness when you think about it fear can really paralyze you if you are not careful.
2. The second thing I had to look at is if I don’t do it now when will I? There are several dreams that I had placed on the shelf for various reasons but that post that I have archived in my phone for future reflection and accountability caused me to really look at the dreams that I have put off and come to the realization that tomorrow is not promised. It also made me realize because I put my dreams on the shelf that someone may need what I can and should be offering.
I hope as you are reading this you ask yourself the same questions. Are you playing full out. Have you put your dreams on the shelf?
If like me you answered yes… then it’s time to face your fear and do it anyway. That is what I am doing! I am pulling old dreams off of the shelf and I am going to do it anyway! So it may not be what I want it to be that is a risk I am willing to take.
Every gift and talent that God has placed in me will be utilized. Everyone of them. This is about to be a lot of fun… Will you join me? Let’s lock arms and conquer our giants. Let’s do it afraid.
